The basis of this masterpiece is an earlier French poem by Aloysius Bertrand. In a creation of incredible virtuosity, Ravel brings Bertrand’s poems to life, employing an innovative piano technique within a classical form. The choreographic elements of Echoes form a common thread, merging into an atmosphere that transcends time and space. In this haunting strangeness, Godani offers a series of pas de deux and quartets that describe a panorama of artistic virtuosity. Through them, intricate and infinite combinations of a formal relationship are presented: the pas de deux. Godani enhances movement with pointe shoes, while creating a remarkable freedom within certain aesthetic parameters, characteristic of a more classical approach. Ravel’s score is performed live by Gustavo Díaz-Jerez.
