Antes que llueva (Before it rains)

José Alberto Becerra

Five bodies like gears. They are not people. They are industrial zones, steam, waste, automatism. Precise movements trapped in an unrelenting wait. When the rain comes, it doesn’t cleanse: it pollutes. It is the acid rain of everyday life. A dance about the human that becomes mechanical… and yet, it insists on moving through a journey of deterioration and contamination.

Before It Rains arises from concern about human habits that, through daily repetition, generate invisible consequences. Through bodily abstraction and a restrained sound atmosphere, the piece aims to suggest a metaphor for the environmental and emotional wear of our life systems. Acid rain, as a contaminating element, invites reflection to be made before it rains.
