World Parkinson's Day 2025

The National Dance Company (CND) in collaboration with the Association of Dance Professionals of the Community of Madrid (APDCM) celebrate with a round table discussion a new edition of Danza para el Parkinson.

April 11th marks World Parkinson’s Day. This year, under the theme “Parkinson’s and Dance: Dancing, a Driver of Well-being”, the National Dance Company, together with the Association of Dance Professionals of the Community of Madrid, held a roundtable discussion to commemorate World Parkinson’s Day.
The round table discussion, promoted by Muriel Romero, current director of the CND, was organized to reflect on and raise awareness of the benefits of dance for those who live daily with this neurological disease.
The round table was attended by Aurora Rodríguez (moderator), the doctors in neurology, Mónica Kurtis and Cristina Prieto, the dance teachers for Parkinson’s Concha Mora and Inma Salomón, principal dancer of the National Ballet of Spain, César Casares, president of the Association of Dance Professionals, Aida Pérez, head of the social program of the CND, Luis Gadea, physiotherapist of the prevention service of the INAEM, the director of the CND, Muriel Romero and people with Parkinson’s from Móstoles, Alcorcón, Leganés, Aranjuez, Hospitalet de Llobregat and Barcelona.
